We plant and support churches outside of our local region and to other under-resourced locations. In addition to annual financial support, a couple times a year we serve a long term rehab ministry in New Orleans to take food and supplies, helpimg with building repairs, and working with the men and women of their ministry. This is a long term commitmant to partner with a church that exists to operate two rehab homes for men and women that struggle with various addictions. We have a strong and trusted relationship with this ministry and serve them as they also serve us by working with our friends in need from our community.
Sometimes we travel outside the country to meet the needs of those most often confronted with issues like starvation, disease, and other life-threatening issues. These trips will usually include a longer stay of several weeks working with another church or ministry team to meet short term needs while planning and praying to plant a church.
We are in the planning stages and are carefully praying about building an orphange in Belize. Belize is a unique and beautiful country with amazing citizens but has also unfortunately become a hub for human traffickng. Orphans are often the result of the trafficking of their moms and then these children often become victims of human trafficking themselves... esentially double victims. New churches are needed in Belize to bring the power of the Gospel to this ever darkening part of the world.
All of our missions efforts, be them near or far, have church planting and church support at the heart. The church is the design of God to share and live out the Gospel and disciple the local body. For us, church planting is the intended result of missions. Our mission strategy always concludes in a church being planted or an existing church being strengthed and supported. The church is what remains if or when the missionaries leave. The church is the answer to the local need.
